Let speakers' voices be heard

As a first-timer at the meeting of the New London Zoning Board of Appeals Sept. 24, I was absolutely appalled at the lack of microphones (and speakers) available to the various speakers.

Although I realize that the meeting is primarily for the board, if the public is allowed to attend, should they not be allowed to listen to what is said? Surely the city could afford a few microphones to correct the situation.
