I am Earl Wilson, Deacon of Senior Deacon of Shiloh Baptist Church, Second Vice-President of the National Baptist Deacons Convention of America and a retired federal police officer. 

I recommend re-election of Sylvia Potter to the New London Board of Education. I feel that she is a highly qualified candidate. She is no stranger in this field. She has already proven her commitment and leadership to the city. Sylvia is a dedicated worker in the community, an advocate for children’s educational rights, it is her goal that all children obtain an equal opportunity of successful education. She is an educator and a positive influence on young ladies and men in local schools and throughout Connecticut. 

We have watched her grow up as a Christian, inot the friendly individual and confident young lady she is today. We know Sylvia to be a responsible, honest, calm and compassionate woman. She is a hard-working individual and a dedicated wife to her family. 

Sylvia will be an asset to the Board of Education. I, and my wife, confidently recommend her continued participation on the board.
