    Billion-dollar error

With regard to article, “Geiger continues to predict positive outlook for Electric Boat,” (Jan. 26), EB in run of good fortune, I quote, "For the 2016 fiscal year, Congress appropriated $7.2 million for submarine programs. In fiscal year 2017, that number will grow to more than $8 million....." million? Try billion. If you can't get the numbers right when your reporter is there taking notes or recording, how can we trust that anything written by The Day's staff is correct? Perhaps The Day should stick to its strength. Cutting and pasting articles from other sources. In this case the The Bulletin or Hartford Courant. Both had the correct figures.
