Mike DiMauro, who I call captain pink hat, wrote an article, “The Yankees honoring Ortiz? Mikey D. just doesn’t understand,” (Sept. 30), a few weeks ago about how he would never step inside Yankee Stadium ever again if the Yankees honor David Ortiz, the greatest clutch hitter in the history of baseball, which they did the last game of the three-game series. Even your boy Mariano came out hugging him like they were brothers, Mikey.

Your statement tells me you're not a true Yankees fan. When the Yankees are losing fans don't go to the games. Go to Fenway Park on a Monday night in the rain and the park is filled to capacity. Instead of bashing Ortiz, why can't a little bit be said about what he's done for the children and the people of Boston and his own people of the Dominican Republic. David Ortiz is loved by people everywhere he goes. Come join the Red Sox Nation, the most loyal fan base in the history of sports. You're nothing but a pink hat. I thought you were better than that!
