Fasano is wrong on the 'Trump test'

Regarding Senator Len Fasano’s op-ed, “For state candidates Trump is wrong test,” (Oct. 16), the question is highly relevant. It tells us who the candidate is as a human being and what they stand for as a leader beyond a political label. It tells us if the candidate has integrity and moral character and courage. It tells us if we can respect and trust the candidate because he or she respects each and every person’s equality, dignity and well-being. It tells us if the candidate will represent all of us well and find common ground and make sound choices for the greatest good.

Those candidates who took a stand for our common human dignity, earned my respect, trust and vote as a leader.

Senator Fasano, if Republican legislators truly want to serve the citizens of Connecticut, end the divisive finger-pointing and blame games that  make cooperation impossible. This attitude is just as responsible for our current fiscal challenges as you say Gov. Malloy and the Democrats are.
