Chicago casino operater seeks southeastern Massachusetts license

Mass Gaming & Entertainment, a subsidiary of Rush Street Gaming of Chicago, submitted an application for the southeastern Massachusetts casino license Friday, the only entity to meet a 5 p.m. deadline.

Four other operators requested extensions from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. One of them, KG Urban Enterprises, had previously submitted an application along with a nonrefundable $400,000 application fee. Hower, it formally requested an extension to submit a more complete application. Also seeking extensions were Somerset On The Move LLC, Seafan Trust and Crossroads, an entity headed by David Nunes, a Colorado developer who partnered with Foxwoods Resort Casino on a Milford, Mass., casino proposal in 2013. Nunes died on Dec. 30.
