North Stonington will hold hearing on joining Ledge Light Health District
North Stonington — The town will hold a public hearing Tuesday on potentially joining Ledge Light Health District.
Ledge Light Health Director Stephen Mansfield will lead a presentation during the Board of Selectmen's meeting at 7 p.m. in the New Town Hall Meeting room.
The town, which has a part-time municipal health district, is considering joining the regional health agency. According to a Connecticut Local Health Annual Report from 2016, the town has a part-time director and part-time sanitarian. The town's budget last year for its heath district, including salaries and operating expenses, was $32,751.
A town meeting on the topic has been scheduled for Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at North Stonington Elementary School in the multipurpose room.
