Shore Line East back on schedule after fallen tree prompts service suspension

Shore Line East has resumed full service Wednesday after a tree fell on the tracks in the Guilford area this morning.

A Shore Line East employee confirmed about 2 p.m. that all trains are running close to or on schedule.

The tree fell on the tracks between the Branford and Guilford stations. Passengers intending to take Train No. 1616, scheduled to leave New Haven at 10:35 a.m. and arrive in New London at 11:45 a.m., had to be bused from New Haven to Guilford, where they were able to board the train for the rest of the journey east.

Other trains weren't running as crews worked to clear the tree from the tracks.
