    Staying dry

New London Parks and Recreation lifeguards, from left, Jake Gannotti, Eddie Arteaga, and Zora Labonte play Rummy as they take shelter from the rain in the lifeguard office at Greens Harbor Beach in New London Tuesday, June 25, 2019. The beach at Greens Harbor opened for weekday swimming last week and is staffed with lifeguards Mon.-Fri. from 9-5 and weekends from 10-6. Part of the beach remains closed due to a drainage project construction that runs from the adjacent park, across Pequot Ave. and through the beach. The wether forecast is more beach-friendly the rest of the week. (Sean D. Elliot/The Day)
