    Cold day, warm homecoming

    Groton — The U.S. Navy Virginia-class attack submarine USS Colorado (SSN 788) on Thursday returned to its homeport, the Naval Submarine Base here, from its inaugural deployment.

    According to the Navy, the submarine sailed approximately 39,000 nautical miles, supporting national security interests and maritime security operations.

    Colorado was commissioned March. 17, 2018, and is the third U.S. warship named after that state.
