Yard Goats returning to Dodd one more time on June 25-26

Norwich — The Connecticut Tigers announced that Dodd Stadium will play host to three additional Hartford Yard Goats games on June 25-26.

The Yard Goats, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, have been forced to play all of their 2016 games on the road due to construction delays to their new stadium. Hartford will play the Erie SeaWolves, the Detroit Tigers' Double-A affiliate in the Eastern League, in a 4:05 p.m. doubleheader on June 25 and a single game at 1:35 p.m. on June 26.

The Erie roster currently features 11 former Connecticut Tigers players: pitchers Tommy Collier, Joe Jimenez, Joe Mantiply, Montreal Robertson, Brennan Smith, Josh Turley, Paul Voelker, catcher Austin Green, infielders Dominic Ficociello and Dean Green, and outfielder Jeff McVaney.

"We're excited to welcome the Yard Goats back to Dodd Stadium to take on our fellow Tigers affiliate later this month," Tigers general manager Dave Schermerhorn said. "We hope our fans will enjoy this unique opportunity to see a number of former Connecticut Tigers back at Dodd Stadium where their professional careers began."

Tickets for those dates are available now online at cttigers.com, by phone at (860) 887-7962 or at the Dodd Stadium box office. Pricing for Yard Goats games are $12 (premium box), $11 (reserved box) and $10 (grandstand). The doubleheader is a single admission event. The Tigers will honor the $2 discount with military ID and $1 discount for children 12 years & under as well as senior citizens 60-up. Gates will open for all Yard Goats games one hour prior to first pitch.

The Connecticut Tigers, Detroit's Single-A short season New York-Penn League affiliate, open their 2016 home season on Wednesday, June 22, against the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets affiliate) at 7 p.m.
