Conn College tops Mitchell in women's basketball

Sophomore Nancy Coulverson scored a game-high 12 points as host Connecticut College beat Mitchell College 76-24 in a nonleague women's basketball game on Monday in New London.

Kylie Caouette had 10 points, Meggie Corcoran had nine rebounds, Sami Ashton had four assists and four steals, Dana Muckstadt had eight rebounds and Caroline Pangallo had eight assists for Conn (7-2), which led 37-8 at halftime. Haley Garcia led Mitchell (2-8) with five points and teammate Marissa Sweeney had seven rebounds.

Conn opens plays in the New England Small College Athletic Conference on Friday, playing at Middlebury at 7 p.m. Mitchell returns to action on Saturday, hosting Wheelock in a New England Collegiate Conference game at 1 p.m.
