In a tribute veterans, Masonicare Home Health & Hospice held a ceremony at Bride Brook Health & Rehabilitation in Niantic on Veterans Day to honor residents who have served their country. A total of 32 veterans from World War II to Vietnam were acknowledged.

Navy Capt. Michael Payton assisted with the program, presenting a certificate to each veteran, as a Masonicare social worker gave each an American flag pin. The Naval Submarine School Silver Dolphins presented the colors for the ceremony.

Also in attendance to witness the tribute were U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd, East Lyme First Selectman Paul Formica, state senator-elect.

Courtney provided each Veteran with a certificate. Formica delivered a special proclamation to the veterans and Bride Brook. Both legislators stayed to socialize with the vets after the ceremony.

Masonicare's Hospice Team worked with the staff at Bride Brook to develop the program to honor the veterans.
