    Experiencing a real hair-raiser in Groton

    Tracy Torres, children's librarian at Groton Public Library, uses balloons to demonstrate static electricity Friday during the Science Smarts program for kids 7 to 12 years old. The kids used balloons to create the static electricity needed for their electroscope and water-bender experiments. The Science Smarts program meets once a month, and each month features a different science subject.
