    Ledyard finishes second in Quahog Bowl

    LEDYARD FINISHES STRONG IN SCIENCE COMPETITION

    Students from Ledyard High School took second place in the annual Quahog Bowl, a regional ocean science competition which was held on Feb. 7 at the University of Connecticut's Avery Point campus.

    The competition is part of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, which, strives to encourage and support the next generation of marine scientists, policy makers, teachers, explorers, researchers, technicians, environmental advocates and informed citizens, to be stewards of the ocean. Ledyard High School came in second out of 16 teams, while Cogincaugh High School in Durham took first place.

    Other local schools participating were Bacon Academy, Waterford High School, Norwich Free Academy, the Marine Science Magnet High School in Groton and New London Science-Technology High School.
