Saturday event to benefit family of Norwich police officer

Norwich — The McDonald Family Benefit will be held Saturday for the family of Jennifer McDonald, the late wife of Norwich Police Officer Greg McDonald.

Jennifer McDonald was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008 and after numerous treatments and surgeries found out on March 16 that her cancer was back and aggressive. She passed away on April 1 at the age of 45. She is survived by her husband and young son.

Saturday’s event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Norwich Holy Trinity Greek Church at 247 Washington St. Along with a pancake breakfast and raffle prizes, there will be children’s activities and entertainment.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12. The event is free for children under the age of 5.
