Fleetwood Mac tribute band to play benefit for Stonington High School

Stonington — Tusk, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, will perform a concert to benefit music education at Stonington High School on Friday, October 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.

The high school band will also be performing some of the songs with Tusk.

Last year, similar performances of the Beatlemania Stage Show raised funds for the music programs at Stonington and Fitch High School.

Stonington Music Director Katrina Gotlieb said last year’s concert “was awesome PR for our program, a great experience for my kids, and an amazing fundraiser. We made more from this one night that we make from all other fundraisers combined…it exceeded all my expectations and everyone was thrilled.” Tickets are available at www.purplepass.com, McQuades Marketplace in Mystic and Westerly or by calling 800-316-8559.

Event organizer Paul Lococo said that “Tusk is the next best thing to the real Fleetwood Mac” and the band’s tribute performances have been selling out around the country. He said the band’s five musicians have been making music together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in cover bands, for more than 25 years.
