    Lettie G. Howard sails into New London

    The schooner Lettie G. Howard sails into New London Harbor, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 for the Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival. The Lettie was built in Essex, Massachusetts in 1893 and serves as a sail-training vessel for the South Street Seaport Museum in New York City. Lettie is coming off a third place finish in the annual Gloucester Schooner Festival race last weekend and will be docked at the Custom House Pier. (Sean D. Elliot/The Day)
