Mystic — Workers guided a purlin into place as they assembled the first two curved sections of the 105-foot laminated wood beams that will be the main architectural feature of the new Thompson Exhibition Building at Mystic Seaport Thursday. The laminated wood beams, which will create the arched roof of the new building, are laminated in pieces in Quebec, trucked to Mystic and assembled on site.
