Groton RTM member to seek Democratic nomination for state representative

Groton — Christine Conley, a three-term member of Representative Town Meeting in Groton, said Sunday she would seek the Democratic nomination for state representative in the 40th District.

"I am running to go to Hartford and build relationships with the state and businesses in order to keep our skilled workers employed, our schools funded, improve our infrastructure and restore confidence to the middle class," Conley said in a prepared statement.

Conley is the current elected floor leader of the Groton Representative Town Meeting and formerly served as moderator. She works as attorney at the law office of Lori M. Comforti and is a Connecticut board certified workers' compensation specialist.

Conley also serves on the Golf Advisory Board for Groton parks and recreation, and was a recipient of the Fourth Annual Southeastern Connecticut 40 Under Forty Awards, which recognizes people under age 40 who demonstrate excellence in their profession and leadership and service in the region.
