Stonington — A local development firm is proposing to construct a three-story, 57,200-square-foot mini warehouse storage facility on Extrusion Drive, the road off Route 1 in Pawcatuck just west of Stonington High School.   

Cart Realty LCC is seeking a special use permit from the Planning and Zoning Commission, which will now schedule a public hearing on the application.

Plans filed for the 2.6-acre site at 30 Extrusion Drive calls for 326 storage units along with another 24 drive-up units.

There would be parking for 29 cars and the facility would operate between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The property borders several homes on Swan Street in the adjacent Birdland neighborhood.

Extrusion Drive is home to Davis Standard and the town’s school bus depot.
