    East Lyme registrars to hold special voter registration session

    East Lyme — The registrars of voters will hold a special voter registration session on Tuesday, April 12, to prepare for the upcoming Democratic and Republican presidential primaries to be held on April 26 at the East Lyme Community Center.

    The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 12. East Lyme residents who would like to register and/or enroll as either a Democrat or Republican, or check their registration status, are encouraged to do so by this date.

    There are registration deadlines which must be followed.

    Thursday, April 21, is the deadline for mail-in voter registration cards to be postmarked, and received in the registrars’ office by noon on Monday, April 25.

    Noon on April 25 is the deadline for new voters to register in person for the April 26 primary. Also, previously registered unaffiliated voters may enroll in either party by this date.

    All voting for the Democratic and Republican primaries will take place from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 26 at the East Lyme Community Center, 35 Society Road.

    Absentee ballots are available from the town clerk in the East Lyme Town Hall, 108 Pennsylvania Ave.
