Registration open for annual Tour de Noank 5K Road Race

Groton — The annual Tour de Noank 5K Road Race and Kids’ Fun Run will be held on Saturday, June 11.

The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. at Esker Point Beach with the 1K Fun Run for children ages 3-12.

The 5K Road Race begins at 10 a.m.

Registration for the event, presented by Thames Valley Communications, is available online at GrotonRec.com and will be open at 8:30 a.m. on race day.

Pre-registration is $25 for the 5K and will be $30 on race day.

A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit Groton’s programs for people with special needs.

Runners who make an additional donation will receive a pair of red speed laces and be entered to win live lobsters from Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough.

The event also is sponsored by Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough, Costello’s Clam Shack and other partners.
