Piver scholarship fundraiser to be held Sunday
Stonington — A fundraiser, silent auction and raffle for the Joshua Piver Memorial Scholarship Fund will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Enders Island in Mystic.
Tickets are $25 each. Children 12 and under are free.
Piver, who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York, graduated from Stonington High School and the University of Vermont. He worked at Cantor Fitzgerald on the 105th floor of the World Trade Center.
The Stonington Community Center awards a scholarship each year to a student epitomizing Piver’s “passion for life, work and family.”
