A group of Hillary Clinton supporters will conduct a torch relay on Saturday beginning at the New Town Hall in North Stonington and ending at the Mystic drawbridge.

Organizers say they are taking to the streets to “pass the torch towards an enlightened, optimistic and united America."

The relay is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. making stops at the Old Mystic Post Office at 11 a.m. and arriving at the drawbridge at noon.

Similar relays are planned across the country. During the relay participants will be asked to declare why they are voting for Clinton as they pass the torch.

They will record and post their declarations online at a new Facebook page titled “Pass the Torch for Hillary.” Those unable to attend can take selfies and post on “Pass the Torch for Hillary” and on their own Twitter accounts with the hashtags “passthetorch” and “imwithher.” For more information, about the relay contact Vilma Gregoropoulos at (860) 326-9478 or vilmajg@att.net.
