Ledyard one-room schoolhouse to host open house

Ledyard — One of the town's oldest one-room schoolhouses will host an open house for the public from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.

The Geer Hill Schoolhouse, at 922 Colonel Ledyard Highway, dates back to 1700. It once educated all of the children in the neighborhood from grades one through eight. The schoolhouse hosts an open house once a year and is otherwise only open by request.
