State Rep. Carney named ranking member of Transportation Committee

State Rep. Devin Carney, R-Old Lyme, announced that he has been selected to serve as the leading House Republican lawmaker on the legislature’s Transportation Committee.

Carney also will serve on the legislature’s Finance, Revenue and Bonding as well as Environment committees.

"During my tenure serving the people of the 23rd District, a focus of mine has always been on transportation-related issues whether it be I-95 or Shoreline East or boating," Carney said in a statement. "As Ranking Member of the Transportation Committee, I will work together with legislators on both sides of the aisle to address our transportation needs and work towards ensuring a predictable and sustainable future for our state's infrastructure."

“As Ranking Member of the Transportation Committee, Carney will play a pivotal role with regards to our state’s long-term transportation plan," state Rep. Themis Klarides, House Republican Leader, said in a statement. "I am confident that he will serve the House Republican Caucus and his district with distinction.”

Carney represents Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook.
