East Lyme town meeting to be held Wednesday

East Lyme — A special town meeting will be held Wednesday to approve up to $36,586.48 to purchase a vehicle for the town's new police chief.
The town is moving toward an independent police department. The special appropriation would come from the remaining balance of the town's 2015-16 vehicle acquisition program, according to the town notice.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the upper meeting room at Town Hall.
