Charter Oak opens branch at Mohegan Sun

Waterford — Charter Oak Federal Credit Union announced it has opened a full-service branch at Mohegan Sun to serve its growing membership there, and will also offer employees a new network of ATM machines at multiple Mohegan properties, including the Eagleview Employee Center and the Mohegan Tribe’s Community and Government Center.

The branch at the casino, which opened March 6, is Charter Oak's 16th branch.

“Our new branch at Mohegan Sun offers all of our banking services in a convenient location with easy access for the casino’s employees, tribal members and tribal employees,” Brian Orenstein, Charter Oak’s president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.

The branch is located at the entrance to Mohegan Sun’s multi-story Eagleview Employee Center and features an ATM that accepts cash deposits without an envelope, a popular feature among casino employees. Charter Oak will install ATMs at the casino’s Traders’ Trail employee break area.

Eastern Connecticut's largest credit union, Charter Oak had assets of $986 million as of Dec. 31, 2016.
