State historic group to hold workshop in New London on Wednesday

New London — The Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office, which is working on a Comprehensive Statewide Historic Preservation Plan, will hold a public workshop Wednesday in New London.

The historic preservation plan, slated for completion at the end of the year, is an intensive level planning document addressing the treatment of the historical and cultural resources across the state. It will serve as a guide for planning and decision making by the state Historic Preservation Office, towns, agencies, nonprofit organizations and others who may affect these resources.

The state Historic Preservation Office is reaching out to stakeholders to gather input, information and advice. Public workshops are being conducted in communities throughout the state in collaboration with local partners. An online survey will be posted to gather additional public input.

Wednesday’s meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the City Hall, Council Chambers, at 181 State St. To register in advance, visit bit.ly/historicplan.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
