Stonington — The Stonington Village Improvement Association has erected an informational map on the lawn at Stonington Point that illustrates the various sites in Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York that visitors can see from the panoramic location.

It points out the three lighthouses — Latimer Reef, Watch Hill and Stonington — that can be seen from the location and which once guided mariners through the area when the town was a major 19th century rail-steamship hub. Latimer Reef and Watch Hill Light still are active. Stonington Light, just behind the lawn where the map is located, is a museum.

There is also information about Sandy Point to the east and the local impact of the 1938 hurricane.

There are also numbered photographs of the 12 locations listed on the map, such as Watch Hill Harbor, Napatree Point, Fishers Island, South Dumpling Island and the Stonington Harbor Outer Breakwater.

And no, Taylor Swift’s Watch Hill mansion is not one of them.
