Robert C. MacDougall of Groton celebrated his 100th birthday with an open house at his home on May 27, 2017. Approximately 75 friends and family attended the celebration.

Bob was born in New London, on May 25, 1917, to Mary and Russell MacDougall. He married Louise DeWolfe on Oct. 11, 1941. They were married for 67 years prior to her passing in 2009. Their family includes a son, Bob; daughter, Sandy; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Bob served as assistant post master in Groton before retiring in 1972.

When asked his secret to reaching 100 years, Bob answered “Good Luck”.
