Vets eligible for reimbursement for licensing exam fees

Hartford — State Insurance Commissioner Katharine L. Wade has announced that U.S. veterans applying for insurance licenses are eligible to be reimbursed for licensing exam fees.

"We are honored to offer this service to our veterans working in the insurance industry in Connecticut. Under this program, veterans can be reimbursed for exam fees each time they take a test," Wade said in a statement. "The men and women of the military who serve our nation and defend our way of life certainly are deserving of this."

The Insurance Department is participating through an initiative of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reimburses exam fees for 17 licenses including life insurance and property & casualty insurance. For more information, contact Department's
