    Executive director of Coast Guard Museum Association to speak Saturday in Stonington

    Stonington — Stonington Harbor Yacht Club will host a presentation on Saturday at 6 p.m. by retired Coast Guard Capt. Wes Pulver, executive director of the National Coast Guard Museum Association.

    The museum, which is slated to open in 2022, will explore the Coast Guard's rich history, current impact on our nation and the world, and its future service through interactive exhibits, programs, public and private partnerships, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math based, learning experiences.

    Pulver will share stories of the history of the Coast Guard from a regional perspective including; the War of 1812, the Rum Wars during Prohibition, and the honored men and women from the region who contributed to the country's success in World War II.

    Admission is $5 for yacht club members and $10 for guests. The clubhouse will be open for dinner following the presentation. Reservations are requested by calling Tricia Walsh at (860) 535-0112, ext. 0, or emailing office@shyc.us.
