    Auxiliary Package School graduation held

Groton — Ten sailors of "Los Angeles Class 15100" graduated from Auxiliary Package School on May 29.

Fireman Apprentice David Kirkland was class honorman.

Auxiliary Package School is a six-week long training pipeline for submarine auxiliarymen with instruction in pumps, refrigeration, hydraulics, diesel engines and watertight hatches.

After completing Basic Enlisted Submarine School, sailors undergo three weeks of initial instruction in Basic Mechanical Skills, BMS, emphasizing basic mechanical concepts, tools and uses prior to entering Auxiliary Package School.
