    USS Buffalo Class joins the fleet

    Groton — Ninety-one sailors of "Class 15300" USS Buffalo (SSN-715) graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School on June 26.

    Yeoman Kyle Peterson was class honorman with a 95.54 GPA.

    Seaman Jeffrey Rossi received the Navy Core Values Award for best exemplifying the standards and expectations of a U.S. Navy sailor.

    Seaman Devin Monroe was recipient of the Submarine Heritage Award.

    Seaman Apprentice Andrew Gonzalez was meritoriously advanced because of his academic performance.

    Seaman Recruit Nathan Keating, Seaman Apprentice Tyler Richie, Fireman Recruit Austin Toledo, Fireman  Christian Cantollas, Seaman Apprentice Kristopher Boston, Seaman Theron Beeaff, and Seaman Recruit Dallas Beauregard were graduates with distinction.

    Basic Enlisted Submarine School is a six-week introduction to the basic theory, construction and operation of nuclear powered submarines. In preparation for an assignment, sailors receive instruction on shipboard organization, submarine safety and escape procedures.
