East Lyme — On Nov. 11, students at East Lyme Middle School will be participating in a number of exciting activities to learn about and celebrate Veterans Day.　

Among the special events planned for the day will be student interviews with a panel of veterans, a veterans luncheon and a student-led Veterans Day ceremony.

In one of the activities, students at East Lyme Middle School will have the chance to meet a panel of veterans representing a variety of military experiences, ranging from combat in World War II to starting out as a cadet at the Coast Guard Academy. Veterans will speak informally of their contributions to the armed services as well as answer students' questions.

A student-led ceremony honoring veterans will end the school day. The ceremony will comprise readings and musical performances by students that proudly honor our veterans.
