Norwich Area Veterans Council announces awards presentation

Norwich — The Norwich Area Veterans Council will hold the annual Veteran of the Year and Veteran Supporter of the Year awards dinner on Nov. 11.

To allow for increased seating, this year's award presentation will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on South Second Avenue in Taftville.

The awards recognize both a veteran and a non-veteran who have furthered veterans causes through 2016. The dinner is free for veterans. There will be a nominal charge for non-veterans to cover the cost of the meal. The hall will open at 5 p.m. with dinner being served promptly at 6 p.m. The awards presentation will follow the dinner. Those wishing to attend should contact the canteen at VFW Post 594 either in person or by calling (860) 892-1400.
