Four arrested in North Stonington for refusing to leave hotel

North Stonington — Four people were arrested Wednesday night after police said they were drunk and refused to leave the Hilltop Inn & Suites, 373 Norwich-Westerly Road.

Conor Fitzgerald, 21, of Marshfield, Mass.; Daniel Gleason, 22, of Weymouth, Mass.; Thomas Haggett, 21, of Meriden and Ryan Montemurro, 22, of Meriden each were charged with first-degree criminal trespass.

Gleason also was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with police and escape from custody.

At about 10:14 p.m. police said they received a 911 call to the Troop E barracks in Montville reporting that a group of young adults were intoxicated and refusing to leave the property.

When state police got to the scene, the men refused to follow troopers' orders and still refused to leave the property. As a result, the men were arrested.

The North Stonington Resident Trooper's Office, along with Troop E troopers and Stonington police, responded to the incident.

All men were released on bond and have court dates scheduled for later this month.
