Norwich police lieutenant to be promoted to captain

Norwich — Police Chief Louis J. Fusaro Sr. announced Monday he will be promoting Lt. Christopher D. Ferace to the rank of captain, third in the chain of command at the department.

Ferace’s promotion is a result of a competitive testing process administered by the City of Norwich Human Resources Department with the assistance of the Law Enforcement Council of Connecticut.

Ferace is to fill the vacancy left by former Captain Patrick Daley, who recently was promoted to the rank of deputy chief.

A promotion ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday at Norwich Police Department headquarters.
