Animal Control assists six dogs following accident on I-95
Waterford — Waterford-East Lyme Animal Control transported six dogs and provided them with water and toys after a car accident this afternoon.
The dogs were in a pet-sitter's car that needed to be towed after a multi-vehicle accident near Exit 82 on Interstate 95 North, said Animal Control Officer Robert Yuchniuk.
The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday, according to police.
None of the animals were injured, said Yuchniuk.
He said he picked up the animals and the pet-sitter and transported them back to the animal control facility. The pet-sitter began notifying the pet owners, and the dogs were enjoying water, exercise and playtime.
"They're here running around and they've got water," he said in a phone interview late Monday afternoon.
