Car accident closes portion of Route 156 in Waterford

Waterford — Motorists are being asked to avoid Route 156 after a car struck and damaged an utility pole in the area of Waterford High School.

Police said to use Route 1 as an alternative since a portion of Route 156 will be closed for several hours, allowing crews to repair the pole.

Police said minor injuries were reported.

No further information is available. The accident was reported around 7:10 a.m.
