    Groton police seek man who allegedly stole bottle of wine valued close to $5,000

    Groton — Town police said they are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly took a valuable bottle of wine from Octagon Restaurant around 2:15 p.m. on Monday.

    According to police, restaurant staff realized a bottle of 1990 Chateau Petrus wine was missing shortly after the man was seen leaving the part of the restaurant where it was stored.

    The 1990 Chateau Petrus is a wine that was priced at $4,799 on wine.com before it sold out.

    Photos and a video of the man can be seen at the Town of Groton Police Department Facebook page.

    The restaurant is located within the Mystic Marriott Hotel and Spa at 625 North Road, otherwise known as Route 117.

    Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (860) 441-6712 and reference case 15-2921-OF or to click on the "contact us" button on the department's Facebook page.
