Police make arrest in Old Saybrook Econo Lodge infant death

Old Saybrook — Police have made an arrest in the Dec. 19, 2015, death of a 14-month-old who was found at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites.

Keith Frost, 29, of no certain address was charged Friday with first-degree manslaughter.

Police said they arrested Frost in Middletown Superior Court.

On Dec. 19, police responded to a call for an unresponsive infant at the lodge, located at 1750 Boston Post Road, and found the infant without a pulse and not breathing.

Crews performed CPR and took the infant to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Center.

Police said the infant was then taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where the infant succumbed to "serious internal injuries."

Shortly after the infant's death, police identified Frost as the boyfriend of the infant's mother and said they interviewed him.

At the time, police charged Frost with being a fugitive from justice because he was wanted in Suffolk County, N.Y., on first-degree robbery charges.

Police also charged Frost at the time with criminal impersonation for providing them with false information about his identity.

Police said Frost is being held on a $150,000 court-set cash bond.
