    Benjamin A. Cook.

Plainfield — Police on Wednesday arrested a Norwich man they said had been on the run for almost a year.

Benjamin A. Cook, 26, of 26 Second St., Norwich, had three warrants out for his arrest, each for first-degree failure to appear in court.

Records show charges in Cook's three pending cases include third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, second-degree strangulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an emergency call, second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, violation of probation, possession of narcotics, sale of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His re-arrest was ordered May 8 last year.

Police said they worked with Norwich police — with both departments using their K9 units — to locate and arrest Cook at 289 Gendron Road in Plainfield. They said a tip led them to the residence.

Cook had more than 1 ounce of cocaine packaged for sale as well as marijuana in his possession at the time of his arrest, according to police.

Cook was charged Wednesday with three counts of first-degree failure to appear in court, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell and possession of marijuana.

Cook, who is being held in lieu of a combined bond of $127,000, is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court Thursday.
