Woman charged with driving under the influence had 4-year-old in car

Ledyard — Police say a woman charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs had a 4-year-old in the car at the time.

The driver, Rachael Marsie, 29, of 5 Marla Ave., Ledyard, was headed southbound on Route 117 when she was stopped by police after a report of a vehicle moving erratically.

Ledyard police said Marsie failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, risk of injury to a minor and failure to drive right.

She was released on a nonsurety bond and transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for her high level of intoxication, police said.
