New London man dead after suspected overdose
New London — A 51-year-old local man is dead after likely overdosing on a narcotic Tuesday, according to police.
Police identified the man as Kevin Myers of 28 Willetts Ave.
Fire officials responded to Myers’ home around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday because a caller said a person there was unconscious and didn’t appear to be breathing, police said.
Responders administered Narcan at the scene and then took Myers to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the official cause of death isn’t yet known, but a narcotic overdose is suspected. Police said they do not suspect any foul play in the death.
Police said family members they’ve interviewed are cooperating with the investigation.
The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting with the investigation.
