    Police: Ledyard man was selling marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms

    Ledyard — Police arrested a man Friday who they said had been selling marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms from his 14 Lake St. home.

    James Bredeweg, 53, was arrested after Ledyard police, along with officers from the Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, served a search-and-seizure warrant at his residence Friday morning.

    Police found marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, cash, scales and packaging materials.

    Bredeweg was charged with possession of marijuana greater than 4 ounces, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    He was released on a $1,500 bond and will appear on March 2 in New London Superior Court.
