East Lyme — A Waterford woman was arrested this week after police said she had stolen a prescription pad from a doctor's office to obtain medications.

Jessica Burnette, 35, of 11 Quinley Way was arrested on a warrant and charged with 11 counts of forgery or alteration of a prescription, 11 counts of obtaining a controlled substance using a fraudulent prescription, 11 counts of illegal possession of narcotics and 11 counts of illegal possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

East Lyme police said an investigation found Burnette had written prescriptions from the stolen pad from October 2014 through June 2015 and obtained the medications from the CVS Pharmacy in East Lyme.

Burnette was held on a $50,000 bond and presented in court on Wednesday.
