    Police: Fugitive arrested in Groton

Groton — A man charged with assault in Louisiana was arrested here Friday morning.

Members of the town police department and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested 20-year-old Jeremire Lambero, whose last known local address was 355 Long Hill Road, No. 54. He was held on a $1 million bond, police said.

Lambero was arrested as a fugitive from justice on an outstanding warrant from New Orleans, La., where he was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, a felony charge that is extraditable.

The marshals service had received information that Lambero was staying at an apartment in Groton, where he was arrested without incident.

Lambero was presented Friday in New London Superior Court.
